Blackpool Activities & Things To Do
Blackpool by a mile or should that be golden mile, is by far the most popular tourist destination in the UK. You think of UK summer holidays and you think of Blackpool.
Getting To Blackpool
The seaside town of Blackpool is located in the North West of England and is a very easy place to find. Close to the A585 as it is such a tourist hot spot you will have no issues getting to Blackpool at all. And if you do get lost just head for that big tower with all the lights.
What’s On & When To Go
Blackpool weather is really unpredictable even in the summer months, but the town is just amazing, but like I said even in the summers, Blackpool has been known to have its share of summer showers. One of the main tourist attractions that happen in Blackpool are the Blackpool Illuminations which happen usually around the end of August/start of September and last until the end of November. Just be warned that if you go during October half term the place is swarming with kids!
Blackpool is a town where you can easily stay for a week and still not see all the place has to offer, but here are a few key places that you simply must visit.
Blackpool Tower, well come on you knew this was going to be number one on the list. By law if you go to Blackpool you have to go to see the Tower. There is a ton of stuff to do inside for people of all ages. At certain point of the years also have a variety of shows on in the Towner. And if you are not scared of heights then why not climb all the way to the top!
Blackpool Pleasure Beach, one of the most famous amusement parks in the whole of Europe. This may not be a cheap day out, but you can easily spend the whole day in this place. There are a ton of rides, arcades, shows, places to eat and so much more. And if you have younger children with you it’s worth going to Nickelodeon Land which is inside the Pleasure Beach.
The Piers, the North, Central and South Piers in Blackpool are world famous. Each one has its own style and no matter if it’s a show, arcades, fun fair or a bite to eat. These three piers just have a ton of stuff for you to do. You can easily spend a whole day walking from one pier to the last!
Sandcastle Water Park, the Sandcastle is one of the best water parks in the UK. This indoor pool has some amazing slides and wave machines. The place looks amazing with its cool palm trees and Caribbean vibe that it has going on. There is also a café and a burger joint in the Sandcastle so if you are not partaking in the water activities, but the kids are you can still have a good time.
Blackpool Zoo, is a tremendous zoo and a great day out for the whole family. Lions, tigers, sea lions, elephants and many more animals are here for you to check out.
The Grand Theatre has a variety of great shows and concerts on throughout the year. It’s well worth looking into what shows are on here when you visit Blackpool.
Blackpool has an amazing night life. Even if you are not into all the family oriented things that go on during the day there is still a ton of stuff to do at night. Also its worth nothing that there are also many family activities that happen in the evenings also.
Pubs and clubs are located all over the place. It’s not an exaggeration to say that when you are walking along the front that you cannot go more than a few feet without finding a place to get a drink.
The piers also have a variety things going on in the evenings such as comedy shows, amusements and even some live music on occasion as well.
