Getting To Bournemouth
When people say that Bournemouth is located on the South Coast they are not messing around! If you are heading down to Bournemouth which let’s face it most people who go there are, then following the A338 will be the way to go. Or if you do not like following signs, listening to the sat nav or a person sitting next to you giving terrible directions, just keep heading South!
What’s On & When To Go
While Bournemouth does have things on all year round, make no mistake about it that this is a place you are best to go in the summer. There are just a ton of things going on in the summer ranging from music to live performances to god knows what else! If you go at some point during the summer then it’s not an exaggeration to say that no matter when you go, there will be something on during your stay.
There really is no shortage of things to do in Bournemouth ranging from loads of arcades to fun days out. We have three things here that you really need to go and check out on your trip to Bournemouth.
RockReef, this is a great place to go with the kids. It is an indoor rock climbing centre that caters for kids as young as five. There are a vast number of rock walls and a really intense aerial obstacle course. They also have pot holing and a zip line as well! There is more than enough things to do here to keep you busy all day. And you parents can enjoy a drink or bite to eat while the kids are hanging from the ceiling.
Oceanarium, even the most hardnosed miserable SOB who has no interest in any kind of wildlife (are things that live in the sea classed as wild life?) will be blown away by the Oceanarium. What is cool about this place is that it does not mess around with “normal” fish. They have sharks, stingrays and all other kind of things that if the glass broke then you would be in big trouble. You know it’s a good day out when there is a chance you could be eaten. Being serious this is a fantastic place that has a really cool tunnel you can walk through where the fish swim all around you.
Bournemouth Eye, the highest attraction in Bournemouth! This is something you would think would be not all that interesting, but when you are lifted what feels like a million miles in the sky and you can literally see for 20 miles. You cannot help, but be impressed. This is a tourist hot spot in Bournemouth and they have many attractions on throughout the year.
As far as the food in Bournemouth goes you will not be surprised to know that there is something for everyone here. All your favourite fast food joints are well represented as are upmarket restaurants and places the whole family can go. Of course there are a multitude of little fish and chip places as well!
Despite being a very family oriented destination, Bournemouth has a tremendous night life. There is no shortage of pubs and clubs for you to wet your whistle at. Bournemouth has an awesome Night Bus service that is great for getting you back to your place of stay when you are a little tipsy and it ensures that you and your buddies do not have to draw straws to see who is the designated driver. The Pavilion Theatre along with the Bournemouth International Centre have great entertainment on all year round ranging from shows to live music. You will certainly want to check out what events are on during your stay.
