Paignton in Devon
Paignton is a cute town located on the south side of Devon, on the coast of the Tor Bay. It has Celtic origins and originally was a small, fishing village. It gained in popularity as a tourist destination in recent years and has even merged with nearby villages as it has increased in population. You can expect a town that is easy to get around with plenty to see. Oh, and did we mention that its name means "pudden eaters?" Yes, you can get authentic Paignton Pudding there! There is much history there, but with many historical buildings demolished or closed such as the Royal Bijou Theater and the Torbay Picture House. Still there is plenty to see and do here!
Getting to Paignton
The Exeter International Airport is hands down the closest airport to Paignton. There is a railway line that links to Torquay and London. There are also plenty of bus stations and taxis around for travel. Going by foot to some attractions is possible as well.
