Christchurch is a borough and town located on the south coast of England. The town is located on the water and was known throughout history to be a trading port. The town is filled with beaches, nature preserves, a beautiful harbor and very historical buildings. The town is certainly worth checking off your list for sites to see as it has so much history and plenty of ancient artifacts and buildings. It has quite a few “older generation” tourists that come to the area for its relaxing qualities, yet you can still find plenty to do after hours and for fun.

The closest airport, the Bournemouth Airport, is an international airport that is located in the borough of Hurn. You can find plenty of roads that lead to different areas, including Devon, Southampton, Poole, Bournemouth and New Forest. There are plenty of bus companies to choose from and during the summer months, especially, buses open traveling from all around England to Christchurch. You can also travel by railway or even ferry to Christchurch.
Activities and Things to Do
In Dorset, there are plenty of attractions that can keep you moving around the entire area -- you will never get bored. Surprisingly, some of the top destinations in the area seem to be boring, but they are actually incredible to see. The Sculpture by the Lakes in Dorchester may sound simple, but it is truly beautiful and well worth seeing. The Plaza Cinema, while it sounds like a regular theater, has history and it beautiful to see a movie in as it is simple and classy. In Christchurch, you will of course want to see the Christchurch Priory Church as it is a beautiful church that dates back to 1094. The Highcliffe Castle in Christchurch is also well worth seeing as an ancient artifact and structure.
When Should I go?
Christchurch has typical weather of that of England by the sea. The coldest time of the year is during the winter months, obviously, so try to avoid that time period if you're planning to travel to the area. If you are looking to do outdoor activities, definitely arrive in the summer, as there will be plenty of options not only for doing things in the area, but traveling around. You will always have something to do in the summer, and in the spring and fall you can still do plenty, just be a little more chilly.

Don't be fooled by its name – there is still plenty of sinful things to do in Christchurch and the Dorset area at night. There are lots of pubs and eateries in the area -- right in Christchurch is a popular destination called Thomas Tripp. The Square and Compass, Rubyz, and DYMK Bar rank high on places to visit as well. You will be able to find something to do all around the area, and with the sea nearby you can find lots of seafood and fun as well.
