Why You Should Have Your hen weekend in Cambridge
Look I know that you may get some strange looks when you tell your friends that you are thinking of Cambridge as your hen do destination, but this is not a bad choice at all. Cambridge is a really nice and picturesque style city. You get an old timey experience that you simply struggle to get anywhere else in the UK. And that makes for a really cool and classy hen weekend……… oh and as this is a student city there are a ton of pubs and clubs so you can have a great hen night!
Some of you may want to do some of the more touristy things in Cambridge. I think that a nice walk around the city and taking in all eth architecture is pretty neat, but if you want a place to go then I recommend the gorgeous, Cambridge University Botanic Garden.
Nice Places To Eat & Where To Shop In Cambridge
Cambridge has many nice places where you can go for a fantastic meal during your hen weekend. One I always recommend is The Bella Italia. Here you get a fantastic three course meal and best of all the menu really does have something for even the fussiest lady in your hen group. You get a great atmosphere here and it’s just a nice place for a meal. If you want something a little bit spicy then head to the Pipasha Restaurant which is one of the best Indians in Cambridge.
Cambridge is really nice for shopping as you have a wonderful old style English high street to browse. There are also a few shopping centres in the city such as The Grafton Shopping Centre and the Grand Arcade Shopping Centre.
What You Can Do During The Day In Cambridge
This is just a small taste of what the good city of Cambridge has to offer you during the day.
One thing that will never go out of style is a nice day at a spa . No matter if you are wanting to partake in some beauty treatments such as getting a tan or your nails done. Or perhaps you want to have a nice massage, facial, body wrap or maybe even go into the amazing serial mud chamber! This is a great way to start the day and it will have you walking on clouds and feeling amazing for the rest of your hen weekend.
Pole Dancing Group Lesson
Here you ladies will be taught how to unleash your inner goddess as you learn a whole bunch of sexy new moves during a really fun pole dancing lesson. This is just so much fun and you will be amazed at how much of a great workout this is as well. What is really cool about this is that as you are having so much fun, you do not realise at the time just how hard your body is working. Many people after trying this just once find themselves hooked!
Learn To Make Cocktails At The Snug Bar
Cocktails, I know that you love them! And what better way to spend an hour or two with your friends than by learning how to make cocktails! This is a great laugh and you will be learning how to mix properly, the right amount of each booze you should use and best of all, you get to sample everything that you make. Many people seem to think that the more tipsy they get the better the cocktails are.
Quad Bike Safari
This is a really cool way to have some fun with your friends and do something a little out of your comfort zones. Quad biking is a great activity and here they make a day quad bike riding a real adventure. You will not be racing against each other. Instead after a quick lesson you will be going on a fun trek through the Cambridge woodlands. You will have an instructor with you at all time so you are always safe. These quads are not over powered so they are perfect for people who have never ridden one before.
How To Have A Great Hen Night In Cambridge
What about the Cambridge nightlife I can hear a few of you ask, well check out these four places that are perfect for a fun hen night.
Lola Lo Tiki Bar
Sure you may be stuck in the freezing UK, but that does not mean you can’t live it up Hawaiian style on your hen night! A night at the Lola Lo Tiki Bar is going to be one you ladies remember forever. This is just a really cool bar that has a ton of special events going on during the year, is an awesome place to dance and party and they even have these cool VIP tiki style tables where you can relax and enjoy a few drinks.
Live Stage Show
Cambridge may not be the West End of London, but there are still some great stage shows that you can see. There are two really neat theatres here that have show's on all during the year. They range from live music, comedy shows and of course stage shows. The ADC Theatre is part of the University Of Cambridge and they have some amazing student productions on here. The Cambridge Arts Theatre has more “high production” stage shows going on, but they do also have comedy and music acts here from time to time as well.
Hire A Male Stripper
While there is no male strip club in Cambridge for you hen night that does not mean, you cannot give the Queen Bee of your hen group a sexy time! Hire a buff male stripper who can either come to a venue (if you have checked and it’s cool with the venue of course) or they can come to your hotel room and do a fun and sexy strip show for you. You owe it to the bride to be as think about it, what is a hen weekend without a little bit of naked action?
Cambridge Ghost Tour
Find out about Cambridge’s, scary, haunted and just damn pants wetting horrifyingly dark side during a ghost tour! This is a great hen do activity, but kind of a weird one. You see the guide is kind of creepy and does a great job in making you scared. But you will also be having fun because watching your friends, jump, get spooked by their shadow and in general just be scared is really funny. This is a really fun and different way to make your hen night one to remember! Just remember to pack a clean pair of pants for when you hit the bars!
Getting To Cambridge
At only 50 miles from Cambridge and just a little off the A1303, Cambridge is no hassle to get to if you are driving. If no one wants to drive then there is a train station here and that is the easiest way to get to the city. Depending on where you are coming from you may have to make a change (or two at the most) but for the most part this is the easiest way to get here.
