The Geordie Games - How will your group fair going up against these Newcastle favourites.
How It Works
Each group will have an event organiser to take you through how everything works (and how you win) and they will keep score, just in case there is any cheating.They will also be there to take pictures for you, these will appear on social media, free for you to have. You will also receive a coveted t-shirt to take home with you and share with the grandchildren one day
What You Need To Know
- The session will run 8 to 10 activities
- Approx 2.5 hours
- Morning session at 10.30
- Afternoon session at 13.30
Your games can include:
Game 1- The Geordie Ale Run – 3 man bungee
Three of yas will make a run for the Ale. Will yee fail or gan home with the ale?
Three participants run up the bungee lanes, ale bottles are to be placed on the wall. Furthest wins!
Game 2- Kebab Shop Duel-Knock your block off
That Radgie has robbed ya bait! Belt the Naacka!
Two participants fight against each other attempting to knock the opponents head off.
Game 3- On ya Bike. Last one standing
Howay man can yee not keep yasel up reet! That sweeper is gannin full pelt mind!
Seven Participants- stag/hen on the sweeper. One get’s knocked off the next person gets on.
Stag or hen can be swapped in off the sweeper.
Game 4- Geet Massive Sumo Marras- 2 Man Sumo Suits
Yee and ya marras are becoming geet massive Geordie Sumo’s. Hoy the other team off tha mat and claim victory!
4 participants- 2 x 2 man sumo suits. Swap after each match
Game 5- Geordie Racing- Walking Tubes
Have ya ever seen out like this? Get racing ya radgies.
10 participants- 2 x 5 man walking tubes. Practice and Race.
Game 6- Sling ya hook- Giant home made quoits
See that there rope? See them there pegs? Ya get the gist?
10 participants- 2 x 5 person teams, 2 people throw the quoit. Scores as per game
Game 7- Mortal pitch and toss (pigeon toss)
Old Skewel game from when yee were a youngen, with a twist!
4 Participants. 2 game boards, flick coins at the board whoever gets closest to the board wins. Twist is everyone's wearing drunk goggles.
Game 8- Larn Yerself Geordie
Div ya naa Geordie leek?
Battleship style boards, 5 on each team. Who can match the sayings/slang first. Shout the Geordie saying to win.
Game 9- Ya ganna get clarty
Leek mastermind……………..but aboot ya lad or lass………….and with clarts!
*This event only runs from April to September.
What We Like About It
The Geordie Games is a fantastic twist on the Scottish classic, Mini Highland Games. With fun and interactive games, each group won't be able to help but laugh at their fellow team mates. The aim overall is to win (obviously) but if we can succeed in you having a hilarious and memorable day then we feel like we have won.
