Durham Stag & Hen Ideas

Durham is a little overawed as a stag and hen destination by its party-crazed neighbour, Newcastle, which attracts partygoers from far and wide seeking the Newcastle blend of nightclubs and bars all packed into the centre. It's a pity as Durham has a lot going for it and with the buzzing university has plentiful evening hangouts and a great atmosphere that is very different from Newcastle.

Durham's location and general layout with the cathedral looking down balefully at all the fun makes it compact and easy to get to and get out of. If the evening and night time feels different from Newcastle, the great news is that all the daytime activities are pretty much the same because of the proximity. It is not great distance from the airport and has the mainline London trains stopping at the railway station.

Our take is if you are looking for a more intimate party in the North East, then Durham might well be the place for you.
