Blackpool Mini-Highland Games
Scotland has some amazing traditional sporting events. Here you will have the opportunity to experience a mini version of the traditional Highland games. These games are as far removed from Olympic sports as you could possibly get and are based on fun rather than athleticism! Many of the events are loosely based on the real Highland games which are highly competitive and dominated by a bunch of overweight whisky sodden Neanderthals.
Here you will be given a kilt to wear and a ginger coloured wig to set the theme for the games. The games take part outdoors and last for about an hour and a half- bigger groups can take longer. Everyone has an amazing laugh as teams compete for that coveted award- "The Golden Haggis". Any likeness to a serious day out will be purely accidental.
A typical event may include:
- Tug of War
- Tossing the Caber
- Welly Wanging
- Archery
- Farmers Dash
- Hammer Throw
