In the beautiful highlands of Scotland and the Cairngorms National Park is the graceful town and popular tourist destination Aviemore. Getting there

Aviemore lies 90 miles from Edinburgh and sits on the A9 trunk road. It runs from Dunblane all the way to Inverness so expect to see and feel the great Scottish countryside. It is also accessible on by train on the Highland main line with the main services in the area being Scot rail and East Coast Trains. From London it is only an hour and 30 minutes by air to Avimore’s nearest airport of Inverness and within hours driving distance.

If you are a person who enjoys music art and a good atmosphere then why not visit Aviemore’s cosy Insider festival. Hidden away in the woods of the Inshriach estate discover an array of great artists, food and performance with only a small crowd yet some of Scotland’s finest talent.

If you want something a little different, then you should check out MV festival. Combining an eclectic mix of snow sports, big comedy acts, music and great vibes it has a little something for everyone. Set in the Cairngorm National Park, you can not only enjoy fantastic entertainment but take in the added elegance of the park surroundings! The whole event is not profit and all the proceeds go to two fantastic yearly rotated charities.

Nightlife in Aviemore

After a day of exciting activities why not continue having fun into the night with Aviemore’s growing nightlife scene. Perhaps try the Vault Bar where you will find all the fitting music for the town being played along with great drinks, warm surroundings and a great atmosphere. Or how about the popular Cafe Mambo which is open to 1 am? It has a fantastic selection of cocktails and shots to get you night started as well as great tunes from their house DJs. Or if you want to kick back it has some big American pool tables, video games and great food on offer from open till late! The Winking Owl is for people who like tradition as it is one of the oldest pubs in the area. If you like top quality ales then this is the place for you with one of their main suppliers being the Cairngorm brewery!

Day time in Aviemore

Apart from Aviemore being great for its many activities, notably it is great for cross country lovers with trails and routes being well marked. Suitable for hikers and bikers to horse riders and even geologists Aviemore provides any great explorer and learner with miles of knowledge and interest. Among the lands lays The River Spey which is the second longest river in the whole of Scotland. So if you are avid fisherman then prepare to be met with miles of great fishing and challenges ahead!
